Project narrative

On February 20, 2003, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York donated over 500 books, videotapes, and CD-ROMs to Columbia University’s C.V. Starr East Asian Library. The books were Chinese language books that had been recently published in China. The purpose of the donation was “to express [China's] gratitude for Columbia University's contributions toward enhancing U.S.- China education cooperation.
