Project narrative

In April 2008, the city of Suzhou, China announced its forthcoming gift of a 30-meter-long golden dragon costume for festival dragon dancers to the city of Portland, Oregon to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Portland-Suzhou Sister City Association (PSSCA). Then, in August 2008, Suzhou delivered the costume to PSSCA; PSSCA Board contracted the Portland Lee's Association Lion Dance Team to become the custodian of the dragon.
