Project narrative

In April 2019, the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) signed an agreement with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies to provide a grant for the renovation of the Confucius Institute at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies as part of its designation as a "Model Confucius Institute". Hankuk University of Foreign Studies will provide money to fund the project over 10 years. On July 16, 2020, an inauguration ceremony was held to mark the completion of the project. This was the first Model Confucius Institute in South Korea.
