Project narrative

The Confucius Classroom at Asan Youth Education and Culture Center was established in 2015. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Asan Youth Education and Culture Center (아산시청소년교육문화센터) with a grant. Tianjin Foreign Studies University (天津外国语大学) was the partner Chinese institution for this Confucius Classroom. The Confucius Classroom was officially opened in November 21, 2015.

Staff comments

1. The Chinese name of the Confucius Classroom is 山海关高中孔子课堂 and it is known as 산해관 공자학장 개원식 in Korean. 2. AidData has coded Tianjin Foreign Studies University as the implementing agency because Tianjin Foreign Studies University is the Chinese partner institution for Confucius Institute at Soon Chun Hyang University, which oversees this Confucius Classroom. 3. The precise establishment date of this Confucius Classroom is unknown. For the time being, AidData has coded the commitment_year field as 2015 as this was the year this Confucius Classroom was established and marked the committment_year_estimated? field as True. This issue merits further investigation.
