National Library of China donates 510 volumes of books to the Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library at the University of Toronto as part of the 'Window to China' program in 2008 (linked to Record ID#103258, #103259, #103260, #103261, #103262)

In May 2008, the Cheng Yu Tung East Asian Library at the University of Toronto signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the National Library of China to participate in the "Window to China" program. This program provides Chinese books and other forms of literature, aiming to enhance the library's Chinese collections. The East Asian Library is the only organization in Canada to have been selected to partake in the "Window to China" program, which is facilitated by the China State Council Information Office as well as the National Library of China. The agreement calls for the donation of 200 volumes of books annually for five years. As of June 2008, the library had received a total of 510 volumes from the program (captured via Record ID #103257). Additionally, the National Library of China made an additional donation of CAD 5,850 to support the acquisition of an additional collection (captured via Record ID #103258). The 2009 donation is captured via Record ID #103259. The 2010 donation is captured via Record ID#103260. The 2011 donation is captured via Record ID#103261. The 2012 donation is captured via Record ID#103262. The financial values of the donations of books are unknown.
