Project narrative

In early September 2005, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC Group) – Chinese state-owned offshore oil and gas producer – pledged a RMB 1.6 million grant for victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. CNOOC Group pledged to match donations from its employees for the victims in the United States. The 30,000 employees raised ¥800,000 RMB (then approximately $98,600) for hurricane victims.
