On November 22, 2023, the Chinese government provided RMB 1 million in emergency cash assistance and RMB 15 million in food assistance (captured in record 108620) to support Somalia’s disaster relief efforts after severe flooding. The donation was delivered to Somalia's Director of the Disaster Management Bureau, Molin, from the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Fei Shengchao. By November 28, 2023, some of the money had already been used for emergency supplies such as food, sugar and cooking oil for more than 1,200 displaced families in Jubaland.
