Project narrative

On April 28, 2022, a handover ceremony was held for a sugarcane harvester donated by the Hunan Provincial Government to the Barbados Agricultural Management Company (BAMC). The sugarcane harvester was produced by Zoomlion Agricultural Machinery Co., Ltd., a Chinese private sector company. The donation was intended to help Barbados transform its sugar industry from strictly exporting raw sugarcane to producing and processing sugar for consumption in both domestic and international markets.
