Full Description

Project narrative

On March 27, 2020, China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) Chairman Yu Jianfeng wrote a letter to the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Project team committing to donating 80,000 disposable medical masks. The masks were donated shortly after the letter. The donation was estimated to be worth $56,000 USD. According to CNNC officials, 46 CNNC staff members are working on the ITER Project in France.

Staff comments

1. The estimated value of the donation was made using AidData's COVID Transaction Estimator. 80,000 masks * $0.7 per mask = $56,000 estimated value.
