Full Description

Project narrative

On June 11, 2014, a syndicate of 19 banks — including the Bank of China (BOC) — entered into a €2.5 billion EUR syndicated revolving credit facility (RCF) agreement with CRH plc — an Irish construction and building materials company — for general corporate purposes. The RCF carried a maturity period of five years. The RCF included the following lenders: BNP Paribas S.A., Bank of America Merrill Lynch, BOC, Barclays Bank plc, Commerzbank, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Danske Bank, HSBC Bank PLC, ING Bank, JP Morgan, Royal Bank of Scotland, Société Générale S.A., Santander, and UniCredit as bookrunners, in addition to Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Citi, Standard Chartered, UBS, and Wells Fargo Securities as arrangers.

Staff comments

1. The individual contributions of the 19 lenders to this €2.5 billion EUR syndicated revolving credit facility is unknown. For the time being, AidData has estimated BOC's contribution by assuming that each lender contributed equally (€131,578,947.368 EUR) to the loan syndicate.
