Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In October 2005, China's Ministry of Culture donated two murals to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The first mural is named Verve of China featuring flying asparas with musical instruments; the second mural is based on the famous calligraphy work of Wang Xizhi's Orchid Pavilion Preface. Both murals were the works Professor Sun Jingbo of China Central Academy of Fine Arts whom was commissioned by the Ministry of Culture. The two murals were presented to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts during the month-long festival of China.
