Project narrative

On August 22, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar held a farewell party at the Asia and Africa Hotel in Ivato for the twenty-seven recipients of the 2023/2024 Chinese Government Scholarship. According to the Chinese Embassy, the scholarship is intended to further Madagascar's development and contribute to cooperation between China and Madagascar. According to media sources, at least 10 of the recipients were proposed by student members of the Chinese congregation in Madagascar and at least 16 by the Direction of National and Exterior Scholarships. The students will study abroad at 23 Chinese universities. They will study many subjects, including literature, finance, finance, civil engineering, geology, informatics, agriculture, and medicine.
