Project narrative

On March 9, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar held a reception ceremony to welcome a medical team sent by China to provide aid to Madagascar, as well as to send off the previous medical team, which helped during the pandemic. This team has 32 members. This is the 23rd medical team sent by China to Madagascar over 48 years. The medical teams cooperate with local medical workers to treat patients, working under the direction of the embassy and the Madagascar Ministry of Public Health and operating under the framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. According to various media sources, on March 10, seven members of the team went to Andalambalo. Another seven member team went to Monja Jaona Hospital in Ambovombe. Other members went to other places around the country, including Anasiola University Hospital in Antananarivo, Vatomandry Hospital, and Sambava in the north. The team is expected to work in Madagascar for two years.
