Project narrative

On August 21, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Samoa hosted the opening ceremony of the 50-day Samoa Overseas Training Course on Creative Handicrafts and Sewing Technology at Tooa Samalasina Hall in Sogi, Samoa. Four trainers and a project manager from the Hunan Vocational School led the program. The Chinese government and Hunan Foreign Trade Vocational School implemented the training program with the goal of aiding Samoan development. Roughly 80 people participated. Hunan Foreign Trade Vocational School also donated 100 sewing machines and gave each participant a stipend of WST 10 per day. On October 6, 2023, the closing ceremony of the course occurred.
