Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On December 1, 2022, Grenada Broadcasting Network reported that the Chinese Embassy in Grenada had provided XCD 185,000 in funding to the Beauséjour Eco-Development Association for a vendors booth, information center, and public bathroom in Dragon Bay. The project was intended to improve the local Beauséjour community and attract tourism. Construction was planned to be completed by the first week of February 2022. An unspecified Chinese contractor was responsible for implementation. On February 16, 2022, the Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell, visited the project site. During this visit, the Chinese contractor reported that the vendors booth would be completed within a week, and that the bathroom facilities would be completed within three weeks. Then, on June 14, 2022, a handover ceremony was held at the site of the completed project.
