Project narrative

On March 22 2023, the West China Hospital of Sichuan University donated its independently developed intelligent laparoscopic training and assessment system to the Maputo Central Hospital. The monetary value of this equipment is unknown. The two sides held a system handover ceremony to celebrate the official launch of the "Smart Simulation" laparoscopic training project of the Maputo Central Hospital. The 24th Chinese Medical Team in Mozambique, which includes some doctors from West China Hospital itself, was tasked with the oversight and implementation of the training which intends to enhance the quality of medical care for those undergoing laparoscopic surgery procedures and increase the number of medical services provided by hospitals in Mozambique. On December 19 2023, a graduation ceremony was held for 20 doctors from the Maputo Central Hospital who had successfully completed "Smart Simulation" technology training.
