Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On August 25, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Fiji donated FJD $2,000 to the Foundation for the Education of Needy Children (FENC) in Fiji during a fundraising dinner. The donation will be used to help purchase school supplies for underprivileged children. The event was attended by Chinese Ambassador Zhou Jian, Fiji’s Minister of Education Aseri Radrodro, and the foundation’s operations manager Neelam Nirmala.

Staff comments

1. Source states the donation was made directly by Ambassador Zhou Jian, however the image reveals the check was from the Chinese Embassy in Fiji. 2. This donation occurred at a Gala Dinner fundraiser for the organization. Larger donations were given by local private businesses and organizations.
