Project narrative

On February 28, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Somalia held a handover ceremony for more than 1000 tons of food aid to the Somalia Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) to help Somali citizens affected by recent droughts. The donation handover ceremony was held at the Port of Mogadishu, and the handover certificates were signed by both the chargé d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Mogadishu, Mr. Chen Wendi, and SoDMA’s Chairman, Mr. Mohamud Mo'alim Abdulle. The new batch of food aid includes rice and wheat. The rice was delivered in 20 kg bags, from COFCO Corporation. It's not known how much of the donation was rice and how much wheat.
