On March 26th 2023, a handover ceremony was held at Fiji Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Services Center for Chinese anti-epidemic aid to Fiji. The donation was worth an estimated FJD $1,000,000 and included 500,000 pieces of antigen detection reagents, medical masks, protective clothing, protective face shields, infrared thermometers and tents. According to Chinese Ambassador Zhou Jian's speech at the ceremony, the aid had actually been delivered in two batches in May and June of 2022.

The translated speech states: "Today we gather at the Fiji Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Services Center to hold a handover ceremony for a new batch of Chinese aid to Fiji for anti-epidemic materials...As far as I know, this batch of materials arrived in Fiji in two batches in May and July last year, and played an active role in Fiji's anti-epidemic work." This leaves the actual date of the aid delivery unclear. AidData has estimated the actual implementation date and the commitment date as May 2022 and left the completion date as the date of the handover ceremony.
