Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

From June 8 to June 21, 2023, the Chinese Government hosted a fully sponsored technical training course titled Grenada Agricultural Products Processing and Preservation Technology Training Course in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. The course was attended by 14 Grenadian participants and aimed to build national capacity in agricultural processing, food preservation technologies, and value-added production techniques. The training was delivered under China's foreign aid training framework, with all costs—including round-trip airfare, accommodation, and a living stipend—covered by the Chinese government. A pre-departure mobilization ceremony was held in Grenada on June 2, 2023, and attended by Chinese Ambassador Wei Hongtian, senior Grenadian officials, and participants. It was the first in-person bilateral training course hosted in China for Grenadian nationals in 2023 following the COVID-19 pandemic.

1. While the specific implementing agency and host institution in Changsha were not named, such programs are typically overseen by MOFCOM or CIDCA and facilitated by technical colleges or agricultural universities.
