Project narrative

On March 31, 2023, the Chinese ambassador to Tonga and the Tongan Prime Minister held a handover ceremony at the Fa’onelua Convention Center in Nuku'alofa, Tonga for 20 fishing boat engines from the city of Dongguan in Guangdong Province. The engines were worth about 900,000 Tongan Pa'anga. Each engine has about 90 horsepower. They were handed off to various organizations at the Tonga Ministry of Fisheries on May 23, 2023.
