Project narrative
On November 22, 2023, the Government of Grenada—via the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture—announced the availability of Chinese Government Scholarships for Grenadian citizens for the 2023/2024 academic year. These scholarships, offered through the China Scholarship Council (CSC), provide full funding for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programs at universities across China. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend, health insurance, a one-time settlement subsidy, and round-trip international airfare. Applicants were required to submit their applications through the CSC’s online portal (campuschina.org), using "Type A" application format and agency number 3081. Eligibility criteria include Grenadian citizenship, age limits by degree level, good health, and language proficiency (HSK Level 3 for undergraduate applicants and HSK Level 4 for master's/doctoral applicants). Ambassador Wei Hongtian officially congratulated recipients on December 19, 2024, confirming that the Chinese Government Scholarships were awarded to Grenadian students. Implementation is presumed to have begun with the academic year intake in China.
