Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

China provides emergency humanitarian food aid of 1,062 tons of rice to Guinea-Bissau. This donation is a result of an exchange of government notes in November 2022 between China and Guinea-Bissau. China has completed the purchase, processing and shipping of rice in less than 100 days, and the batch of food arrived at the Port of Bissau on February 6, 2023. On March 13, 2023, the handover ceremony of the food aid was held. President Embaló and the Guinea-Bissau government promise to use this batch of food aid properly and efficiently and distribute it to people in need as soon as possible. This aid is one of the results of China's implementation of the global development initiative and the "Nine Projects" proposed by President Xi Jinping.
