Project narrative

On December 21, 2023, the Chinese Red Cross Federation completed administration of the "Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Capacity Building in Developing Countries" training program, implemented by the Red Cross Society Training Center and sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. 24 government officials in civil defense, firefighting, and other departments from Pakistan, Tanzania, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Suriname, and Tunisia participated in the training. The program also invited lecturers from the Relief and Rescue Department of the General Association to share experiences from the Red Cross Society of China. Officials of the Jiangxi Red Cross Society were also present. Part of the training was administered in Nanchang, where the students visited Yimin Community, Qingyunpu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi cancer hospital, and the Nanchang Red Cross Emergency Rescue and Training Base. At the Training Base, students underwent training regarding emergency rescue and rope stretcher production. Training also took place in Shangro, where the students visited the Sanqingshan Geological Museum, the Sanqingshan Red Cross Scenic Area Ambulance Station, the Wanly Times Red Cross Boat Home, the automatic external defibrillator (AED) project, and conducted research with Jingke Energy, Naipu Mining and other enterprises.
