The Confucius Classroom at the International School, Portland was established on March 21, 2011. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing the International School, Portland with a grant. The Confucius Classroom was officially opened on April 15, 2011.
