Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On June 7, 2023, The Chinese Embassy donated medicine and food to the Home of Hope Orphanage in Mchinji, Malawi. The donations included blankets, maize flour, red beans, medicine, and cooking oil (see Record ID #103300). The monetary value of the donation is unknown. They also provided medical treatment to orphans. This was done under the "Warm Children's Hearts: China-Africa Joint Action," an initiative launched by President Xi Jinping's wife Peng Liyuan in 2023 in collaboration with the Organization of African First Ladies for Development. This initiative aims to provide medical and healthcare support to orphans in Africa.
