The Confucius Classroom at West Hartford District was established on October 13, 2010. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing West Hartford District with a grant. Shanghai Foreign Language School (上海外国语大学附属外国语学校) was the partner Chinese institution for this Confucius Classroom.
