The Confucius Classroom at Piscataway High School was established on September 9, 2011. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Piscataway High School with a grant. Shangnan High (上南中学) School was the partner Chinese institution for this Confucius Classroom.
