Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In 2023, the Chinese government provided a donation of an unspecified amount to the government of Suriname for the continuation of the Reeberg construction project, which began in 2019 and has been halted for years. The aim of this project is to build 350 homes on a plot of 25 acres intended for families of need in the Wanica district. The houses are built in six different models to house one to three people. The Minister of Public Works, Riad Nurmohamed, cited numerous reasons for the project's delay, including a land dispute.
