Project narrative

On February 13, 2023, the Chinese Embassy handed over a donation of 100,000 CNY to the Iranian Red Crescent to support its humanitarian assistance efforts following an earthquake. Fu Lihua, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy in Iran, and Yaqub Suleimani, Secretary-General of the Iranian Red Crescent, attended the handover ceremony. The 5.9-magnitude earthquake occurred in Khoi, West Azerbaijan Province, Iran, injuring thousands of people and damaging a large number of houses.
