Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On February 24, 2022, Chinese ambassador to the Republic of Congo Ma Fulin handed over a donation of USD 500,000 to the Minister of Social Affairs and Humanitarian Action Irène Mboukou-Kimbatsa to aid flood victims in the north of the Republic of Congo. The assistance came after the Congolese government's appeal for help to the international community in December 2021 after heavy rains caused severe flooding in the Plateaux, Cuvette, Sangha, and Likouala departments of the country. This donation was followed by another donation of equal size on March 11, 2022, captured by Record ID#103372.

Staff comments

1. There is currently no evidence of this donation being financed from the June 12, 2014 ETCA grant in Record ID#59506. However, the donation captured in Record ID#103372, which was handed over less than a month later on March 11, was the same amount, and intended for the same purposes, was financed from the June 12 ETCA grant.
