Full Description

Project narrative

On March 7, 2023, the government of Vanuatu received the Chinese government's donation of USD 500,000 (over VUV 60 million) for recovery from the recent cyclone disaster. This contribution is in addition to the USD 100,000 donated by the China Red Cross Society (see record ID#104665). The money donated was used by Vanuatu to purchase relief supplies such as food, drinking water, and medical supplies locally, and to deploy relief personnel. On April 6th, Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu Li Minggang and Vanuatu Finance Minister Hon. John Salong signed the handover certificate for the cyclone disaster relief.
