Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

From September 12, 2023 to January 14, 2024, multiple universities and companies in China hosted 184 Ivoirian teachers and 15 heads of technical establishments. This training initiative was a part of Côte d'Ivoire's partnership with China Eximbank and AVIC International Holdings Limited to build and equip seven professional development establishments (Record ID#92345). Some of the hosts for the trainings included: Ningbo Polytechnic, Inner Mongolia Technical College of Mechanics and Electrics, Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry, and more. The schools being established by the AVIC project will offer 15 concentrations, including agriculture, livestock raising, agricultural equipment maintenance, agricultural machinery, agro-alimentary transformation, and the construction of public works. The Chinese-led training was meant to cover these topics to prepare educators from the AVIC program schools.

Staff comments

1. It is unclear if a portion of the funds from the Vocational Training Institute Construction Project (Record ID#92345) were utilized to fund the trainings. For the time being, AidData assumes the implementer, AVIC-International, facilitated the trainings.
