Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In August 2016, a syndicate of five banks — including the Bank of China (BOC) — entered into a €43 million EUR ($47 million USD) syndicated loan agreement with Teads S.A. — a Luxembourg-incorporated video advertising company headquartered in Paris, France — to fund acquisitions and its expansion into the Asian market. The proceeds were to be used by the borrower to acquire ad tech companies whose technology can support Teads' leading position in the video advertising industry and to fund its expansion into the Asian market. In addition to BOC, the following lenders contributed to the loan syndicate: BNP Paribas S.A., HSBC Bank, Banque Palatine, and Banco BPI, S.A..

Staff comments

1. The individual contributions of the five lenders to this €43 million EUR syndicated loan are unknown. AidData has assumed each lender contributed to each tranche. Therefore, to estimate the contribution of BOC, AidData has assumed each lender contributed equally (€8,600,000 EUR) to the loan syndicate.
