Project narrative

On October 17, 2023, the Chinese Government and JSC Uzbekgidroenergo -- Uzbekistan's state-owned hydropower producer and developer -- signed a $28 million grant agreement to build new-generation wind farm in central Tashkent Region. The agreement was signed as part of the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing on October 17-18, 2023. The four-turbine Charvak wind farm is expected have a total capacity of 20 MW and to be built in the Bostandyk district of the Tashkent region. Once it is operational, the power facility is expected to generate 43m kWh per year. The project will be implemented by Uzbekhydroenergo JSC Energy Company.
