Project narrative

On May 21, 2018, China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and the Government of Laos signed an RMB 44.66 million grant implementation agreement for the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce Information System Transformation Project. The purpose of the project was to renovate the information management systems of the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce, install a remote video conferencing system, develop an electronic filing system, and provide information technology training for Lao technical personnel. Zhonghuijian Technology Co., Ltd (中徽建技术有限公司), a subsidiary of China Communications Services Corporation Limited, was the contractor responsible for project implementation. The project’s groundbreaking ceremony took place on May 21, 2019, and the project was originally scheduled to reach completion within 20 months (January 21, 2021).
