Project narrative

On March 2, 2023, China donated 41 boxes of medical supplies worth about ¥1 million RMB to the Grand National Hospital of Mauritania, located in Nouakchott. This donation was made under the China-Mauritania "Counterpart Hospital" cooperation project and a Chinese medical aid team also performed free cataract operations for Mauritanian locals with donated medical supplies and provided technical training to medical staff (record #107885). This particular donation will be used to perform 120 cataract surgeries within the following week of its delivery. Director of Heilongjiang Eye Hospital Kan Ze, and Muktar, head of the Grand National Hospital of Mauritania, attended the donation ceremony and signed the handover certificate.
