On February 1, 2023, the Chinese government donated medicine, medical equipment, and testing reagents to the Grand National Hospital, the National Institute of Public Health, and the Al-Saddaaqah Hospital in Nouakchott. The donations were made in effort to improve Mauritania's diagnostic level and sanitary conditions for its citizens.
