Project narrative

On July 25, 2023, Yuan Jiajun, a Politburo member of the Communist Party of China, announced a financial pledge of NPR 145 million to support agriculture and poverty alleviation projects across all seven provinces of Nepal. The commitment was made during a meeting with Speaker Devraj Ghimire in Kathmandu, during a three-day visit on instructions from President Xi Jinping. The funding is to be administered via the China–South Asian Countries Poverty Alleviation & Cooperative Development Centre. Each province is expected to benefit approximately 1,500 households, with technical support centered on livestock training, horticulture, and small-scale farming pilot projects.
