Project narrative

On June 6, 2023, Ambassador Wang Lixin attended the handover ceremony for the donation of post-pandemic medical equipment to the Maldives. The donation was given by the Chinese government through the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The items donated consisted of 10 neonatal ventilators designated for placement at 10 atoll hospitals, 4000 pairs of gloves, and 16 Automated External Defibrillators (AED's). The monetary value of the items were not specified. Maldives Minister of Health Ahmed Nasim and UNDP Deputy Representative in the Maldives Vera Hakim, among others, attended the handover ceremony.
