Project narrative

On January 30, 2023, the Sudanese Government announced a plan to dig 25 wells in the River Nile State funded by a grant from the Chinese Government. In 2019, the Chinese Ambassador to Sudan, Ma Xinmin, had announced that China planned to drill 50 water wells to provide water to inhabitants of rural regions in Sudan. No further information is known about this project.
