Project narrative

On November 11, 2023, China donated 1,481 tons of wheat and 2,595 tons of urea to Nicaragua. This was China's second donation of this type to Nicaragua in 2023, the first captured in record ID #106500.

Staff comments

1. Marked as agriculture bc of urea (which seems to be a type of fertilizer). 2. While the official sources do not explicitly name the financing agency, the nature of the donation (in-kind delivery of wheat and urea), the involvement of the Chinese Ambassador in the handover ceremony, and the lack of any mention of CIDCA suggest that the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM) was the likely financier.
