Project narrative

On December 5, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone held an award ceremony for the conferral of the 2023 Chinese Ambassador Scholarships. The scholarships were granted to 30 awardees from higher education institutions. The monetary value of the scholarships is unknown. During the ceremony, the ambassador expressed China’s commitment to further aligning with the Sierra Leone government's development plan and supporting Sierra Leone in training more skilled professionals. The Chinese Ambassador scholarship program started in 2015, and has been held for 8 consecutive years, with a total of about 200 students receiving the award.
