Project narrative

On May 11, 2023, the Army Medical University (AMU) of China, through its Southwest Hospital, dispatched a team of 10 medical experts to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for a year-long medical aid program. This initiative represents the ninth deployment since 2015, underlining a continuous collaboration aimed at enhancing Ethiopia's healthcare capacity. The latest team includes specialists from hepatological surgery, infectious diseases, and radiology, among others, and focuses on clinical treatment, personnel training, and technical support. Since its inception, the program has provided services to over 22,000 patients, facilitated 1,600 surgeries, and contributed over 60,000 essential medical supplies and equipment to Ethiopia.
