Project narrative

On July 30, 2023, the 14th group of China-Aid Agricultural Technology Assistance Experts Team arrived in Sierra Leone and assumed their duty on July 31. The team of eight would help Sierra Leone carry out high-yield rice and corn breeding, local farmer training and other work. On 11 July 2006, the Government of Sierra Leone, the China Government and UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) signed a tripartite agreement for the implementation of the "Special Programme for Food Security in Sierra Leone under the South-South Cooperation Agreement" (see Umbrella Record ID#30005). Thus, although not explicitly stated, this project is likely funded by the China-FAO Trust Fund (see Umbrella Record ID#87769).
