Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On August 14, 2023, Chinese Ambassador Li Ming awarded the Chinese Ambassador Scholarship (中国大使奖学金) to 24 students at Solomon Islands National University (SINU). The scholarship was established to promote Mandarin learning, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding between China and Solomon Islands. This is the first domestic scholarship program launched at SINU by a foreign development partner. According to university officials, recipients were selected through a competitive process managed by SINU and came from departments such as fisheries, agriculture & forestry, and accounting. The Chinese Embassy plans to continue offering the scholarship in future years, as part of its broader education cooperation with SINU.
