On June 12, 2023, the Chinese government donated humanitarian aid to the government of Myanmar for disaster relief after the latter was hit by Cyclone Mocha. The handover ceremony took place at Yangon International Airport, and Yangon Chief Minister Soe Thein, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai, and Counselor Ouyang Daobing attended the ceremony.
