Project narrative

On July 21, 2023, the Chinese government donated 190 tons of aid to the government of Myanmar for disaster relief after Cyclone Mocha. The donation included food, water purification (chlorine dioxide) tablets, disinfection tablets, water pumps, generators, portable solar lights, and tents. The handover ceremony took place at Yangon Port and was attended by Yangon Chief Minister Soe Thein, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Chen Hai, and Counselor Ouyang Daobing. The donation was the second of two batches of humanitarian aid donated by China (see Record ID #107010). The total value of these two batches is estimated to be RMB 9 million.
