Project narrative

On September 10, 2023, a delegation of over 20 Solomon Islands government officials arrived in Beijing to attend a three-week training seminar on Rural Development, hosted by the Administration and Management Institute (AMI) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) and funded by the Ministry of Commerce, P.R. China. The training ran from September 10 to September 30, 2023, and included 17 lectures and 16 field visits to agricultural research institutes and enterprises in Beijing, Guangdong, and Guangxi. Participants included officers from the Ministry of Rural Development (MRD), Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Commerce, the Prime Minister’s Office, and the private sector. The program aimed to strengthen technical knowledge, promote dialogue on rural revitalization, and explore opportunities for future bilateral cooperation in agriculture and rural affairs.
