Project narrative

On November 11, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar hosted a Chinese Culture Day at the Confucius Institute at the University of Antananarivo and gave scholarships to 121 students and teachers. The Chinese Culture Day aims to introduce traditional Chinese culture to the university community through calligraphy, opera mask painting, Chinese drum painting, tea ceremony, cultural books, using Chinese chopsticks, and tasting Chinese food. Four categories of awards were presented by the Chinese Embassy: the “Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Promotion of Chinese Culture,” “Higher Education Award,” “Chinese Language and Culture Ambassador,” and “Chinese Scholarship Award.”
